A primary bathroom rebuilt around a large tiled walk-in shower, with the layout opened up and the finishes chosen to stand up to coastal humidity.
Kitchens in houses of this era tend to have been extended into rather than designed, and this one was no exception. Before drawing anything we spent time on where people actually stand, where the shopping lands, and what was being stored two rooms away because there was nowhere closer.
The remodel covered cabinetry, worktops, tile, lighting and the electrical work behind it. Full-height units took the storage up the wall rather than out into the floor area, which kept the room feeling open while roughly doubling what it holds.
Permits and inspections were handled as part of the contract, so the owners were never chasing paperwork mid-project.
